The white sand beach of Fionnphort Bay is located in the middle of the village, surrounded with red granite cliffs. In the centre of the bay is a huge red granite boulder, almost split in two, deposited during the Ice Age. The Bay is popular for paddling, snorkelling, kayaking and swimming, easily helped by the fact it is easily accessible and safe for families. With a west facing aspect over to Iona, the Bay is an ideal location to watch the setting sun, which can turn the granite cliffs a deep red. The local pub overlooks the bay and has a beer garden to enjoy the view.
