Knockvologan beach has acres of white sand to explore, even more when the tide is out, enhanced by rock outcrops of pink granite. It is reached via the Fidden Road, until you reach Knockvologan Farm where you can park. Please make sure you don’t block any access for the farm. Walk down the track to reach the beach where you can explore the various sandy bays for hours. At low tide you can walk across the sand to Erraid which has outstanding views from the top. On the south side of Erraid is a stunning beach called David Balfour’s Bay, where Davie, in “Kidnapped” by Robert Louis Stevenson was washed ashore.
