Market Bay (Traigh na Margaidh ) is one of three beaches on the north coast of the Ross of Mull. It is a beautiful sandy beach with lovely views to North Mull and Staffa. It is very quiet and secluded and therefore a high chance of spotting wildlife such as for otters, seals and many bird species. Market Bay has two sandy beaches, one of which is accessible only at low tide, and beautiful machair grassland edging the coastline. In the past it was a favourite stopover for the Royal Family on board Royal Yacht Brittania, attracted by the privacy afforded by its remoteness as well as its beauty. In the days of cattle droving, cattle were landed at Market Bay from Coll, Tiree and Iona, to then travel to the cattle markets on the Scottish mainland.
