Port Ban Beach is very sheltered, with cliffs on either side, making it a popular spot for those willing to walk further from the Bay at the Back of the Ocean. Walking north along the coast, go through the gate and pass some small coves to find the track leading to this beautiful white sand beach. It is a favourite spot for swimming in the sea, especially when the tide is coming in and the water is warmed when passing over sand heated by the sun. The beach is very pretty and has a gradual slope into the sea making it a safe spot for families paddling. This is the best place to find the tiny cowrie shells which are washed up on the sand.
